uBlock Origin
@nixCraft so relieved I’m using Firefox on desktop and safari on mobile, but I’m looking at the market share trends and not feeling optimistic for my future
@nixCraft why is all this crap always opt out
it should be them asking us for permission to make a profit from our data

Our law makers are complicit
@nixCraft if I wasn’t gonna switch to chrome anytime soon, I sure as hell ain’t switching now.
@nixCraft I might pay the $50/year for Google Chrome Enterprise so I can keep using uBlock Origin without being impacted by manifest v3 lol
@elaine @nixCraft the gymnastics people go through to avoid just downloading Firefox

@nixCraft #brave and #vivaldi are better #chromium-based browsers than Chrome.

If possible, it is better not to use Chrome at all.

There are other alternative browsers.

If the existing options are not suitable and/or do not meet your requirements/preferences, there is nothing to stop you from starting a completely new browser development project.

@nixCraft I have FF on my Android devices with DuckDuckGo app tracking blocker
@nixCraft
"Privacy feature" yeah right
@Quilly @nixCraft seriously tho I don't know why there's people hating Google albeit most of us are dependant on it.
@lauraorchid
Well, they're usually pretty bad, depended on or not, i can't see a reason to don't
@nixCraft
@Quilly @nixCraft I still don't understand. I use Google services (primarily Chrome browser and android OS) everyday.
@lauraorchid
Well, it's a privacy concern so if you aren't worried bout that in ralation to google it probably won't affect you, using chrome makes me super uncomfortable for example
@nixCraft
Excuse me, sites can do what??

Next version: sites can see your Documents folder too!

@nixCraft > Do yourself a favour and get uBlock Origin

Better yet, get Brave and dump Chome entirely. Then you aren't giving google your data at all.

@nixCraft Or better, download Firefox and ublock.
@nixCraft the plain way to label that option is, "do you want ads with tracking or ads with profiling.?" yeah, that similarly annoying they could be. hard to escape them on smart tv's...or ad connected Tv's actually.
@nixCraft use chromium instead ?
@nixCraft I get that popup long time ago, and luckily on my phone I got mostly arrow.com ads which I can tolerate (tech related)
@nixCraft Alternative take: Don’t use a web browser from an advertising company.
@nixCraft or even better, switch to a Gecko browser (at the very least, Firefox)
@nixCraft do yourself a favor and stop using Chrome.
@nixCraft or just don't use Chrome
@nixCraft By enhanced, they really mean “extra personalized”
@nixCraft
I use Brave browser, is that the lesser evil?
@nixCraft or you can stop using Google Chrome
