My life is without a #SpIn #SpecialInterest at the moment so I've been exploring options to see what will 'catch'.

I'm looking at crochet, knitting, retro cake icing, Lego & flirting with dressmaking and medieval history.

I want to be completely mentally absorbed into something...

Are you between Special interests or are you completely absorbed in one?

Just wondering if those of us caught in the 'in-between' are common or not?

@autisticbookclub @actuallyautistic my small one has had a special interest in edible plants the past couple of years. We've been encouraging it cause it's a useful skill to have in a pinch (I had a similar SI as a teen survivalist). I'm kinda between them myself, but I think that has more to do with the burnout I'm still recovering from.... I'm also working on adapting our household organisation to make it easier on myself to pick something up (my ADHD makes clutter a huge demotivator)

@Vincarsi @actuallyautistic I wish I had acknowledged my #ADHD connection with household clutter years ago.

If it's not easy, we won't do it!

How are you adapting your household organisation?

I've tried to get rid of every bit of 'stuff' we don't need, and anything that involves daily 'picking up' or 'putting away'.

@autisticbookclub @actuallyautistic I hyperfocused on household organization videos for a stretch a couple of years back (I personally found Clutterbug to be a helpful approach), since then I've started noticing how other people organize their homes and I've experimented with the principles on a small scale (one drawer at a time).
Then, we had to move, which forced a major declutter, and I'm still, slowly setting up the new place to be adaptive as we're all neurodivergent in our house
