My life is without a #SpIn #SpecialInterest at the moment so I've been exploring options to see what will 'catch'.

I'm looking at crochet, knitting, retro cake icing, Lego & flirting with dressmaking and medieval history.

I want to be completely mentally absorbed into something...

Are you between Special interests or are you completely absorbed in one?

Just wondering if those of us caught in the 'in-between' are common or not?

@autisticbookclub @actuallyautistic my small one has had a special interest in edible plants the past couple of years. We've been encouraging it cause it's a useful skill to have in a pinch (I had a similar SI as a teen survivalist). I'm kinda between them myself, but I think that has more to do with the burnout I'm still recovering from.... I'm also working on adapting our household organisation to make it easier on myself to pick something up (my ADHD makes clutter a huge demotivator)

@Vincarsi @actuallyautistic I wish I had acknowledged my #ADHD connection with household clutter years ago.

If it's not easy, we won't do it!

How are you adapting your household organisation?

I've tried to get rid of every bit of 'stuff' we don't need, and anything that involves daily 'picking up' or 'putting away'.

Frankly, it took hiring an "organization helper" on taskrabbit for me to get off my butt and do something about the mess in my crawl space and basement.
They took a look at the space, recommended containers / shelving, and having a set date when they came to help me clean up kept me accountable.
Once you have a place for things, it's easier to get over the initial "I don't know where to start".

They tend to specialize in helping hoarders, but they should be happy to help anyone else who has trouble sorting through junk and creating an organization system.
