I was just able to check off an incredibly specific item from my Bucket List.

The iOS Simulator includes three pre-built GPS simulation routes. This morning as part of my jet lag fighting morning jog I followed the City Run route (which leaves from 1 Infinite Loop and then meanders through the adjoining Cupertino neighborhood). I’ve virtually followed this route probably thousands of times in the last decade, now I've seen it for real. 😁

A great start to what is going to be an incredible week!

@_Davidsmith That is incredibly specific but also really cool! Hope it’s a great week for you :)
@_Davidsmith that’s a pretty fun celebration of a lot of your values all at once. Congrats! 🎉
@_Davidsmith maybe you can re-record them with speed and bearing data 😅 I have gripes…
@stroughtonsmith Hehe, yeah it also looks like the (maybe?) iPhone 3G which recorded it had a blip halfway through and would have had me running though some folks houses. That files been around a long time.

@siracusa when I first saw this post I thought “huh, the frame game got easier”
@_Davidsmith that’s impressive that they have had the same files this entire time
@_Davidsmith very awesome. Welcome back!
@Drwave It's great to be back! This year is my first year actually staying in Cupertino itself, it is really fun to have a new place to explore even after all these years of coming out to this part of the world.
@_Davidsmith This is very cool. One of the best posts to come across my timeline in a while
@samrshi ☺️ What a lovely thing to say, as soon as I had the idea I knew I had to do it while out here this year.
@_Davidsmith if I spot you around I’ll make sure to come say hello.
@_Davidsmith About half of that route is what my manager at Apple (John Iarocci) used for his 1 on 1 meeting walks with his reports. The other half goes by the former Apple daycare center (yes, Apple had daycare in the late 80s/early 90s).
@jimluther It was a lovely neighborhood. Delightfully quiet and comfortable. A little oasis from all the highways and shopping malls near by.

@_Davidsmith

Not quite as nice as the Scottish highlands, but cool enough in the context :)

Have fun!

@_Davidsmith An incredible commitment to development *and* fitness! Well done, and have a great time there. 😀
