I will never understand how big companies will trivialize and throw away the work of extremely talented developers that bring a life and soul to their platforms (and the communities they help form). Not only that, but try to throw them under the bus in the process.

@b3ll agreed. This has been a shit time for developers and the communities they have established. It’s more than just fan service, it’s people who genuinely love the product who will be impacted and more importantly independent developers losing their livelihoods.

And then there's the users who've spent years contributing content, curating, moderating, generating all of the site's value for free.

Plus after reviewing the chain of events, this wasn't just a difficult business decision. Reddit's CEO is an asshole.
