"space nuns have overtly sexualized power armor"
me, after some thought: "the boob armor is geometrically not ideal, but it does seem like that can actually move in the armor so"

they have a similar problem where if their arms are at their sides they can't lift their arms up at their sides, same as space marines
but because gw decided BIG PAULDRONS ARE MANLY SMALL PAULDRONS ARE FEMININE it means they accidentally designed more functional armor lololol
there are some space nun designs (illustrations, not sure about minis/models) where some of them have some kinda of... maybe tube thing? running on either side of their necks. almost like a big collar
that would be a problem tho. probably. you might still be able to get your gun up but you might have to like, sort of splay your arms outward and then inside to loop your pauldron edge around it
would be very awkward. but at least physically possible without clipping through your brain
like this. the lady in the middle looks like she might have a problem
the two women lower in the foreground look like it'd be annoying but much more doable
yeah i dunno what those tubes are but they seem to be some sort of rank-correlated thing
more good == less functional armor xD
medieval knights do actually look cool you know
and even in the times when real knights did not use firearms, their pauldrons did not interfere much with moving your arms up in front of you, and sideways
you didn't need to make the pauldrons so ridiculous in front
space marines: *getting shanked in their armpits and other weak points*
me: "why don't you use rondels"
it's a little weird how they didn't use faulds for the sob
it looks modern/stereotypically feminine, like a skirt, but is also historically/aesthetically on point for functional knight armor
they also have those repentia or whatever but they don't even wear armor
so. yeah
lololol i saw some art of a space dwarf with a sword held above his head... but the perspective is literally done so his pauldron is hidden on that arm
looooooooooololol
just imagining that artist drawing that out and being like "wait, what?"
it's even worse because his torso is twisted slightly which would make his whatever on his back clip through his shoulder too
it's possible i like looking at how people paint, than actually painting
is this what it's like to watch streamers
my package has been out for delivery since 6am but nothing yet
please say you didn't lose my minis
"you can paint this!"
me, loudly: "YOU can paint this"
oh wait... maybe i shoulda primed all the minis first tho
ah fuck it, still feeling sick and eyes wonky xD
interesting
the feet have pegs on their feet to insert into holes in the bases... but i could also shave those off and totally rebase them
fuck this gorilla super glue is really thick
too thick
TOO THICC
i need to think this through a little more lol
also will priming them before assembly fuck up my tolerances for assembly
I QUICK GOOGLE SHOWS NO RELEVANT RESULTS
KINDA WANNA KNOW NOW LOL
cait's left arm is such a bastard
the little nubbin to fit in the forearm is like a little nothing
lol nick's arm snapped off, prolly sometime during transit
straight snapped off the sprue
strong has a rando nubbin on his right foot and i dunno if that's actually supposed to do something lol
watch me snip it and realize what it's for 2 seconds after
the left arm of this missile launcher synth makes no sense
where the hell does this nubbin go lol
airbrushes don't really speak to me
i dunno why
painter cursing as she has to strip a mini face and start again because she's entering a contest
me, having painted like a handful of minis, badly: "i feel ur pain"
me: "fucking enclave. me and all my homies, all hate the enclave"
also me: "fuck enclave power armor looks good tho"
my cobalt keep display cases supposed to arrive today
babysitting the front door worth it? hope so xD
1) i wanna measure internal dimensions and stuff so i can plan out dioramas,
2) i want display cases to keep dust off my painted minis!, and
3) i can then move them to my shelf so my worktable has space for my unpainted/unassembled minis >.>
also like, i just wanna say the perfectly straight/grid repeating pattern for stone work or bricks wouldn't look real anyway
because that's not how you lay stone
but still xD
it's really wild how the photos they take of the golden demon winners are overexposed shit
like just wall to wall shit
you can't even take the effort to make your goddamn contest winners look good, and maybe from more than one angle?
like this is embarrassing man
the official photo taken versus images from instagram
@SuperTaliaDX huge gaping maw on top
don't judge. paint go in, poo color come out
