Twitter is the fourth most hated brand in the US after Fox News, FTX and the Trump Organization. A truly impressive degree of brand destruction in less than a year.

These are the 7 most hated brands in America—Elon Musk's Twitter is No. 4

Three of the world's biggest social media giants — Twitter, Meta and TikTok — rank highly among the most hated brands in America, says a new poll. Here's why.

CNBC
@carnage4life I mean it was bad before, the antisemitic wave in 2016, the inauthentic accounts easily swamping the share of voice during the first Trump election etc. but now it’s just a megaphone for one corrupt man’s interests.
@LaureM
@carnage4life Could say Edgelord is more successful at these goals than OG pathological liar TFG's attempts.
@carnage4life good news for Musk - Tesla is still higher rated than Twitter 🙃
@carnage4life How can one give credit to this list when it does not include any mobile phone companies?
@carnage4life this is just sad. A travesty 😭
@carnage4life Oh come on. Where is Exxon on this list? Well I guess gas is rather reasonable for now.
@carnage4life Mark Zuckerberg sends his thanks.
@carnage4life Any list like this that doesn't have all the US telcos and satellite tv providers is bunk.
@briankrebs @carnage4life And no healthcare insurers?!
@timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life funny how Comcast, owner of CNBC, is nowhere to be found

@suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life

Unsurprising CNBC’s summary left it out, but they’re at 87 in the original article. No health insurers though (they did limit it to the 100 brands that were most well known)

The 2023 Axios Harris Poll 100 reputation rankings

2023 Axios Harris Top 100 brands reputation rankings

Axios

@samerfarha @suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life "Respondents rated those 100 most visible companies on nine dimensions of reputation to calculate the company’s Reputational Quotient"

This is fairly absurd, does your average responder to a poll has a valid nine dimensional opinion on 100 companies? I know I don't.

@errg @samerfarha @suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life
I also think it strains credulity to say that because it was fourth in this list of 100, it is actually fourth overall. Good to see that Antifa sentiments are popular though
@samerfarha @suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life
Elon will spin this as validation of his changes to twitter because the "hive mind woke mob" hates us
@samerfarha @suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life It's also kind of funny that John Deere, which I have a quite negative opinion about, due to their bad stance on right-to-repair, is number 3. Is it just that they're kind of an iconic brand? Cool logo?
@errg @suldrew @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life hipsters and their mesh John Deere caps have done a lot of work for that brand 😂

@samerfarha

Yes, the culture war stuff is serving to distract from the class war. I was disappointed no health insurers were among the worst.

@timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life I agree with some of the worst, but John "No Right To Repair" Deere is #3 _most_ trusted? Their methodology is broken.
@derek @timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life I'm guessing you'll get wildly different results if you ask customers of lawnmowers or farmers
@timbray @briankrebs @carnage4life Do people hate individual healthcare insurers? Personally I lump them all together as a god-awful industry.
@carnage4life Hey quality brands come advertise on our hated burning dumpster...
@carnage4life It would be interesting to compare on this basis Tesla and Twitter.
The Axios Harris Poll 100 reputation rankings

Here's how people ranked the reputations of the most visible brands in America.

Axios
@carnage4life Not only does the Trump Organization rate #100 out of 100, but the gap in score between #99 and #100 is far larger than the gap at any other rank on the list.
@carnage4life Twitter has been bad a lot longer than that. At least 2015 was when the stupid really got ingrained.
@carnage4life Tesla’s gotta be up there, too.
@carnage4life @ckape If they'd done 8 Worst instead of 7 Worst, they'd have had to talk about BitColn.
@carnage4life I'm quite satisfied with the varied toots and access to news I get with Marathon. I have NO feeling of loss from not having a Twitter account.
@carnage4life Three out of the top four most hated organizations are MAGA supporters. Wonder why? 🤣
@carnage4life how did it rank before Musk took over, does anyone know?
@carnage4life The poll does not say that those are the 7 most hated brands in the country. What it says is that of the 100 most visible brands in the first round of the survey, those 7 scored the lowest. I mean, what does it even mean to talk about the "products and services", "trajectory", or "growth" of The Trump Organization with regular people?
@carnage4life State Farm / Allstate: Hold my beer, I just stopped writing homeowner's insurance in California
@carnage4life seems to me if the bird site is that hated people would be afraid of damaging their brands by clinging to the platform. I left 30k + followers behind when I moved to Mastodon and I have not regretted leaving that fowl place since. Haven't posted there and I don't share links pointing back there. To me it was a clear moral choice not to support an evil man.
@carnage4life While I don’t know the pool, there is a message here that voters really need to contemplate in upcoming elections.
