Do people with tiny ass vapes know they look like they’re sucking their thumbs?

Today is world meteorological day #worldmetday 🌦️

DYK that the Icelandic Met Office has an API for weather observations. I´ve been having lots of fun building weather info screens for my new @trmnl
a brilliant little ePaper info screen

Our API: api.vedur.is/weather/

Guess the AC is going on tonight.

It breaks my heart a little bit when someone asks me for restaurant recommendations in Iceland, but they don’t like seafood or lamb!

Like I’m just not gonna recommend Rosso Pomodoro or Hereford!

“Insomnia” by Faithless came on the music machine and the tones of Big Ben at the beginning instantly transported me back to my teenage room in Kuwait, listening to the BBC World Service on shortwave radio. I’d get my news there, but also my music (BBC had a top 40 show called Multitrack, I think?).

I’ve walked through Georgetown twice in the last 24 hours and have yet to yell “it’s a side *walk* motherfuckers”.

Stay tuned for my next walk after some Belgian beers.

I also made toum with store-bought peeled garlic. Sometimes, you just don’t have the patience.
Not been seeing a lot of spicy red peppers to ferment and make hot sauce with, so I bought a jar of Trader Joe’s fermented Calabrian chilies and used that. Pretty good, but they use oil in it and that required some tinkering to get the flavor to be less oily (a small bit of molasses for the win)
Today is the Equinox in Reykjavik. We have 12h 15m of sunlight today and until the Summer Solstice, we’ll increase that amount every day.
We need better and more bus lanes: I checked for my bus at Penn and M St and it said 12 min. Walked to next stop, now 21 min (no bus had passed). Next stop: 8 min. Walked to Rosslyn. Bus pulls up a minute afterwards.
