@Paulatics Thx Sen. Simons 4sharing a fascinating pg of 1972 history. Part of me worry about the tribalism in us Albertans will simply vote4 people of our tribe like we did in the past. With higher turn out (advance polling, 350,000+ votes before 12noon today), will more Albertans collectively vote for a principled ABgov that will do right by our province & won't pander to the most extreme members of us?
P.S. Did the 7 year old you ever think you would be in the Senate or draft laws?

@Kempton If I’m truthful, I have to admit that 7 year old me wanted to be prime minister. I was that kind of kid, I’m afraid. But 58 year old me is pretty happy with how things turned out!

@Paulatics Ah, that's cute 💞 and put a needed smile on my face! I grew up in a British colony (Hong Kong) so I had no dream of being a political leader. But I guess the 2023 me is happy that our votes in all 3 levels of 🇨🇦governments really matter and I've voted in all elections that I'm eligible to vote to add my voice. And proud to be a Canadian in seeing our 🇨🇦 welcoming refugees from around the world (Ukraine, Hong Kong, etc).

@Paulatics Senator Simons, When I left Hong Kong to come to finish high school in Toronto, I was thrilled to be picked by HK Tourist Association as one of ~100 #StudentAmbassadors tasked to promote & welcome visitors to HK which I was excited and honoured to share my love of HK!

@Paulatics In 2023, when we Albertans are voting in one of most consequential elections in recent years, I have not expected to witness at the same time the disbanding of a political party founded by lawyers in HK. May I call you Paula? When we were little, Paula, you dreamt to be PM. I guess I never dreamed of what HK has become today. And how important the work TRH David Johnston is. And sad to see people play politics with GG's work & impeccable integrity 💞
