@deadDuck For the record, Elections Calgary have now replied today and say there will be no electronic vote-counting: "As per the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA), ballots will be hand counted by election workers after voting stations close on Election Day."

So, I guess _some_ good news out of a not-great Act.
