#Target if you have issues with someone causing a disturbance in your stores about your #pride display, ask them to leave. If they refuse to do so immediately, call the police and have them trespassed for life. If they make terroristic threats against your stores or staff, press charges.
Make sure the police know their actions were directly motivated by your #pride display making it a bias-motivated attack aka a #hatecrime

Yep, and as history has taught us, "appeasement" as a strategy against fascists leads only to an ever-escalating cycle of (actual, not just rhetorical) violence/demands/violence/demands that will consume the entire world unless/until they *are stopped* by sufficiently vigorous and widespread opposition.
@tunguska @parkermolloy I agree. However, Corporate America will not be sufficiently incentivized to be leaders of any cultural change, and we're spending too much energy holding them to that standard. We should be in the “glass half-full" stance with them than the alternative.
I think you're reading a lot into my response, to be honest.
I just think sending a high-profile message to violent reactionaries that says effectively "hey, we're super receptive to threats and violence; you should use that against us more, because it'll get exactly the result you want" is not smart on any level, no matter who you are.
@parkermolloy @tunguska Yeah, you’re right. Sorry that I went off-topic. At the time of posting, I was mad about the amount of vitriol in some other posts, and I projected some of that in my writing. Target did wrong; societies must not negotiate with terrorists.

Mireille@parkermolloy well, I emailed [email protected] and asked them to reconsider their actions. Not sure it’ll help, but the dodgers reversed a decision after pressure, so who knows? I at least feel a little better letting them know how disappointing they’re being.
