@gemelliz @timewiththea voters in the next federal election need to be reminded that Poilievre would like to gut the CPP altogether.

@rich1trotter @timewiththea

Agree. #Poilievre will start by raising the CPP eligibility to 67 years as did his 'mentor' Harper. And then poof, gone.

Pensions plans are investments in people, PP doesn't believe in investments.

Like most modern Conservatives, the government and the economy are just a smash and grab game in an attempt to squeeze/steal as much wealth out of a system as they can today, because Jesus is returning....or something.

@karlmorant @gemelliz @rich1trotter federal pensions have no need to invest. They don't even need to deduct contributions. The govt creates the funds to pay pensioners at will, whether the fund is short or not.

CPPIB is mostly lining the pockets of industry, particularly the financial industry middlemen.

One of Canada's largest investors is a useless fraud. Why doesn't the govt of the day have more direction over that spending, ensuring its spent in the interest of Canadians?

@karlmorant @gemelliz @timewiththea I agree that it is an investment because the benefit pays more than 5 times per month what the average monthly contributions were for people who contribute the maximum.

@rich1trotter @gemelliz @timewiththea

From a strictly financial sense yes, but from a moral and human perspective, investing in the wellbeing, safety and health of those who have built this country before us deserve it.
