(allow me another moment of unapologetic self-promotion. I'm excited about this!)

Oops, I did it again!
Invented a game,
to help you talk good.

(With apologies to Ms. Spears. 😎)

I figured if I could create a card game (or "tabletop facilitation and training tool") to assist CISOs and other infosec executives in communicating their cyber risks, doing the same for marketing should be just as easy.

It took five years, but I hold in my hands the prototype for my new MessageDeck workshop tool, a system of 150 cards with prompts and techniques to help your team get to the bottom of your first-principles messaging and begin nailing your marketing.

🤖 Looking to help your technical team be a little more ... human?

🚀 Need to accelerate how your marketing agency supports clients?

🤓 Just looking to be a nerd that talks good?

That's why I built the MessageDeck. Coming soon, but here's a sneak peek.

Want more? Drop me a DM. I'll be setting up early access workshops for an exclusive set of hand-selected teams (perfect for founders and small tech teams).

@JetSm00th hi, what's the "I figured if I could create a card game (or "tabletop facilitation and training tool") to assist CISOs and other infosec executives in communicating their cyber risks, " ?

@SonOfSunTzu Startup I was at in 2015 had a swarm-AI algorithm that could identify weakness and project likely incident scenarios. But it was a challenge to explain how. So my son and I designed a simple tabletop card game to explore scenarios and demonstrate the model. We ended up demoing it at “sold out” RSAC and ISC(2) sessions, and teaching the model at CMU.

We were a bit early to the problem (pre-generative-ai/data aggregation challenges) and ended up winding down the company, so the cards aren’t available any longer. But I’m still using them as an example and building custom games for clients based on the concept.

I mention it and show the cards in this webinar I recently did - https://messagespecs.com/effectivecyber/

Webinar: Effective Cyber Communications

Here are the four principles for ensuring your cybersecurity or other technical communications get noticed, get remembered, and get results.

@JetSm00th thank you for sharing, they look great, especially for showing the different factors that go into a vulnerability, and the consequences.

@SonOfSunTzu yep! And what was really interesting was seeing the slight differences in how people used the cards when they got their hands on them.

There’s no “One Way” to risk model.
