A Mastodon reminder for new folks:

- Favoriting (click the star) tells the poster you like the post.

- Boosting (click the RT/cycle icon) shares the post, helps spread the word.

@davemark Always seems sad that more is not made of favoriting/boosting. I would like favoriting to be amplified with some kind of global ‘trending/what’s liked’ list on a fediverse level. I use Mastodon and previously Twitter as a news aggregator, I need a route to prevent me creating my own echo chamber here.

@ngo I struggle with this same issue. Part of this is that there is no global data set. Each server keeps its own numbers, no global sharing/reporting. Very different than, say, Twitter.
