Is that not widely known among local adventurers, something they've heard a dozen times by the time they've visited the tavern and replenished their supplies? Most unprepared adventurers aren't going to luck into being rescued.

Arguably it's mutually beneficial for Umbral to steer clueless adventurers in the Hollow to Cassie before they injure or anger any of the residents. Less trouble for Umbral & co. More appreciation (and reagents?) for Cassie. Not what Cassie signed up for, though she did volunteer her easier path out to Fanish & company...
