Although the snake is only a CR 1/4, an unlucky roll or two could leave our druid @hólounáite incapacitated, or worse. Additionally, the spell slot for the day has already been used in [1/2]

@dungeons cont.| the previous fight, so there is a risk of running out of resources if the fight goes on for too long.

Avoiding the encounter and heading to town would allow @hólounáite to rest and recover their spell slot, while also potentially picking up some new equipment or allies in town. This would better prepare them for future encounters.

You're still at level 1 and there's a great adventure ahead of you, so you may as well take advantage of it. Shopping is tempting, but you have enough gold for now and there will be plenty of other chances to buy gear down the road. A long rest is good, but it's not worth losing out on all [1/2]
