Although it provides a decent amount of EXP, the Elk's CR is 1/4, making it not worth the risk for the reward. Plus, our elven druid companion is only at 7% health, and we don't want to risk further injury at this point. Let's save our resources and take the safer option. The option to attack in close combat will give you a better chance of landing a hit and doing more damage.
