He looks like the retired drummer and only surviving member of '70s glam rock band King's Ransom who's trying on his stage outfit for the first time since the Right Royal Send-Off Tour of 1975 when they supported Wizzard at Fairfield Hall, Croydon.
@Richard_Littler Three shall be the number of the counting, and the number of the counting shall be three.
@Richard_Littler He gives me really strong Ricky Gervais vibes
@Richard_Littler That gold stick, decorated with 285 gemstones, including 94 diamonds, 53 rubies, 10 emeralds, 4 sapphires and 3 spinels is the "Rod of equity". Presumably used by Charles II to bludgeon irony to death when he was coronated. #NotMyKing
@Richard_Littler it's just so weird seeing such an old king, you know? Like, they aren't supposed to last this long without getting usurped or assassinated or exiled or something.
Apparently the whole thing these days is that they are supposed to be some type of symbol of stability, which absolutely sounds like something that came from an emergency brainstorming session on how to keep the royals relevant to a modern audience demographic, because it definitely does not work with a king who looks like he already has one foot in the grave.
@Richard_Littler He should have gone for the lead singer vibe:
@Richard_Littler The purple tunic is definitely in 'wardrobe fail' territory.
@Richard_Littler oddly specific
@real_Gingerale @Richard_Littler For sure! By the unwritten etiquette of toots I believe you are now obligated to share an image from King’s Ransom’s Right Royal Send-Off Tour of 1975.
@Richard_Littler this is my favorite part right before intermission in Hamilton.
@Richard_Littler that's the most accurate description I've ever read

@Richard_Littler

Charles is pimping hard in the furry coat.

@Richard_Littler
I hope he feels as awkward and ridiculous as he looks.

@CP93 @Richard_Littler

Oh, no. I bet he thinks he's worked really, really hard and has earned this.

@Richard_Littler You, Sir, ROCK!!!😂 😂 😂
@Richard_Littler Exactly what I was thinking. When will folks realize that, truly, "the king has no clothes"?
@Richard_Littler if it wasn't for the baby soft hands, I would agree with you.

@Richard_Littler

That's charitable. He looks like one of those "make your cat look like royalty" photos and it's just as much of a joke.

@Richard_Littler I was thinking Cheetos commercial.
@Richard_Littler
Every picture I see he just looks confused about why he's there.
@Richard_Littler This is easily among the best descriptions of the UK's shockingly, idiotically expensive kingly gala fête I've seen.
By the way, what's that gaudy bauble in Rex's left palm?
