If you think #vim is hard to exit, try to get #LaTeX to die after feeding it a file with multiple syntax errors

@ricci -interaction=nonstopmode is a blessing.

LaTeX is not Lisp. I don't want to be dumped into the debugger when it fails.

@elb LaTeX would be better if it were in a Lisp, change my mind
@ricci @elb LaTeX would be better if it were in pretty much anything else...
@dan @elb *monkey's paw curls* LaTeX is now in Tcl
@ricci @dan At least it's not a macro language.
@ricci @dan @elb you just had to say any
@raddessi @dan @elb Look, I'm sure someone did it at some point
@ricci @raddessi @elb I don't generally like to admit this but I actually do maintain Tcl scripts for installing TeX Live (in MacPorts)

@dan @raddessi @elb My favorite thing in there is the README whose last commit says "slightly out of date" - 20 years ago
@ricci @dan @elb that is some of the prettiest TCL I've seen, to be fair
@raddessi @dan @elb yeah even though it ovverides the damn global assignment operator :)
@ricci @dan @elb you can't use an awful language without committing at least one atrocity. I've seen worse bash
@ricci @dan @raddessi I haven't written Tcl in probably 15+ years, but my first open source contributions ever were in Tcl, I wrote a whole lot of ns-2 at one point, and I maintained ical for years. I have a soft spot for it.
@dan @ricci @elb I had to learn the dark art to do some evil things on BigIPs. I have since rejoined the light
@raddessi @dan @elb I'm just going to leave this here, it might take a minute to let the horror sink in: https://gitlab.flux.utah.edu/emulab/emulab-devel/-/tree/master/tbsetup/ns2ir
