wow. :(

@marmel
Anywayyyyy, we have a lot of illiterate Trump voters.

We made them.

We must stop making them and educate Americans or they'll come for us in the future.

@marmel The uber-normies need people to scapegoat (and serve as distraction) while they intentionally ruin the health and future prospects of working-class people.

@tasket @marmel

fully correct, it is all about distracting from real life threatening issues.

in my country it is about shooting a single wolf or bear, i couldn't care less.

🤦

@marmel

Too bad the conservatives' responses would be:

"Get a job. Get a job. You should've paid attention in school. Mental illness isn't really an issue (unless it's a white guy murdering people) and the person getting shot should've had an assault rifle.

But trans people are going to turn my son into a gay woman."

Posts like this doesn't move bigoted idiots.

@marmel Hmmm, but the whole world isn't 'America'...

@marmel

Priorities are out of whack. It's time for a new way.

#tiereddemocraticgovernance

@marmel, aading that all 400 persons have arms, 90 of them 2 o more. What can go wrong?

@marmel

There are so many people shot in the US, that it's hard to find statistics for mere shooting injuries.

If you can find a reference for one American in 400 being shot every day, I'd like to read about it.

Otherwise, I suspect you've confused "day" with "year", as 1-in-400 every day would suggest that everybody was shot every 14 months, or that some people have to get shot multiple times a year to make up for those of us who don't.

Even 1-in-400 per year is 835,000/year, 2287/day.

@RoyBrander @marmel Yeah, I was just about to say something questioning that figure.
@RoyBrander @marmel - It's 321 per day according to this source: https://www.bradyunited.org/key-statistics So I think the error was mixing up ~400 people per day with 1 / 400 of the entire population every day.
Key Statistics

How many people are shot in the U.S.? How many Americans are injured by guns?

Brady

@marmel

That is because fascist populism (and ultraconservatism) needs a scapegoat…

@marmel Today’s Republican Party only believes in freedom for those who agree with them.

@marmel

The GOP
"No, we dont have a policy to tax wealth..
no we dont have a full employment policy
no we dont support healthcare for all
no we wont restore affordable education
no we ARE GOING TO close more schools
no we wont protect social security
yes we are going to arrest women for abortions and follow them around
yes we will give police power to check high school girls bleeding
yes, we will make women with dead fetuses wait to see what happens

But we hate gay people! So Vote Republican!

@marmel

Solution: Stop voting for Republicans.

@marmel Reminder that we make up far more than half a percent of the population, but the majority of us are in hiding and don't self report in a census because how could we possibly trust our government to not use that against us?

@marmel

F R E E____A P A R T M E N T S ___A R E___S U F F I C I E N T

... to end it all

because the uncertainty over one's sleeping place is the biggest threat nowadays

50% of the population is endangered of homelessness

the other 50% can easily fund free housing for everyone

then basically all problems are solved, all

@marmel America is completely broken and half insane. But hey those guns…
@marmel but if every day one is shot then nobody would be left after a year and a bit ^^

“Say you’re in a room with 400 ppl. 36 don’t have health insurance. 48 live in poverty. 85 are illiterate. 90 have untreated mental illnesses. And everyday, at least 1 person is shot. But 2 are trans so you decide ruining their lives is a priority. That is what’s happening rn”

@marmel

This is a great point but what about those who use screen readers? How about editing to add alt-text?

I've extracted it for you.
