@fencoul Is what I think should happen or what I think will happen? What I think will happen is that Scotland and NI will leave the Union, leaving Wales in a grossly disproportionate relationship with England.

What I think should happen is a fully federalised UK, in which most powers are devolved to Wales, Scotland, NI, London and the nine regions of England, which all have reasonably similar populations.

I'd be tempted to add to that and say the administrative centre of each should be the city with the worst direct transport links to London but good links to the main cities of neighbouring regions, to foster the working together of regions and alleviate the gravitational pull of London.

@Stevenheywood @kennykravitz @fencoul top plan. So #huddersfield is the new capital of #yorkshire. No direct rail or road links to London, but direct trains to towns and cities across the North.

I'd go along with that. Similarly Blackburn for the Northwest, Lincoln or Derby for the East Midlands and Worcester for the West Midlands.
