This picture is going to be printed in history books as a turning-point for transgender people in the US. The open question is, which direction will the turn be in?
I don't know, and I don't have ideas for what I can do, but we are on the cusp of big, scary changes that will affect everyone, not just trans people, not just minorities.

If the fact that the only " #Fillibuster " that yielded consequences was that of a trans person demanding the mic should be a warning sign.
For the reactionary christofacists that crossed this line I sincerely hope that noone's gonna dump their "civilty" at the next dumpster and do something very stupid and nasty instead...
Also, stop traveling to or doing business with any fascist state gutting human rights (I've avoided multiple Florida meetings already). Pressure companies headquartered or doing business in the state (so many films are shot in MT; email them, send regular mail, call).
See them lose money and jobs and they'll realize the country is made up of more than just the unhinged bigots they're trying to appease.

@taedryn we are at a very interesting point in history. The conservatives are digging their heels in for a good old fight on this. Society is splitting with some being on the conservative side and some being on a more liberal side and with others taking no sides whatsoever.
If the entrenching and division continues this could end up with civil disorder.
What I want to see coming out of all this is a society that respects the individual rights and individual freedoms of every member of society. What i find the most amazing is that it is the conservatives that are fighting hardest against transgender but are the most likely to have crossdressed at least once in their lives.
I have observed on many occasions that our society is built on stupidly rigid lines. That I blame on the theologians of old. People are not rigidly anything. People are flexible and should be left alone to do and live in the manner that makes them happiest.
