Song sparrows out in force today, singing like crazy! Baylands Nature Preserve, Palo Alto, California.

Also on view (I ignored the waterbirds today): Bewick's wren feeding its chicks a spider, Anna's hummingbird, two Canada geese going at it hammer and tongs, and a very elusive common yellowthroat.

@stshank *zooms in on the spider* judging by the prominent setae (spikes) on the legs I'd guess perhaps a thin-legged wolf spider, Pardosa, though would need a better look at the eyes to confirm
@nev Wow, I wondered what it might be, but I had no idea. Thank you!
@nev Here are some other shots if it helps with ID.

@stshank Checking iNat observations for the county (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=1250&taxon_id=47416&view=species), you do get a lot of Pardosa, but Alopecosa is another possibility. A genus I'm unfamiliar with so I can't say anything definitively!

I am unreasonably entertained at how bad of a day this spider is having.
