@epilys /me looks around suspiciously ๐Ÿ‘€

given the fact that I went to music school in hopes of doing film scoring... and I just posted about hating recaptcha... https://connectified.com/@masukomi/110225289525039978

I feel very seen. On the other hand, if the readability could be improved, and I could be afforded the time to answer, I could happily spend 30 mins contemplating this... assuming it was decent music. ;)

TIL our app uses reCaptcha and was saddened. I didn't realize how much i've come to absolutely hate everything about reCaptcha * i hate doing free labor training AIs for ultra-rich companies * i hate that they punish Firefox users by increasing the likelyhood of showing multiple captchas * i hate that the instructions are hostile to autistics That latter one may be non-obvious. When it asks you to click the โนs with things, and one barely crosses into another โน, do you click that โน or not?

@epilys I misread โ€œpieceโ€ as โ€œplaceโ€ and thought it was prompting reviews and now I want to write musical reviews of places

โ€œChill environment crescendo food was delicious decrescendo servers were friendlyโ€

@epilys GPT-4 regularly eats the curb on music theory questions, so this one might actually be good for another 3-6 months
@epilys pretty sure I can add a decrescendo somewhere irrelevant in any of those, mwahahahar! ๐Ÿ˜€
@epilys
Guess I'm too dim for dimuendos.

@epilys I feel like the question isn't very suitable to determine the humanity of the user.

I mean, without any information about the proposed range and duration of this decrescendo, how are we supposed to determine whether it's a subtle addition of musical dynamics or plain over the top virtue signaling?

@epilys guess I'm a robot :blobcatcomfy:

@epilys

@Jeanniewarner
If it were legible it would be calling you!

@epilys what's the difference between a diminuendo and a decrescendo?
@pdcawley @epilys none except that "ungrowing" is a bit awkward. "Disincreasing"? Looking in Tommaseo (a classic Italian dictionary), I see "decrescendo" defined as "the same as diminuendo".
@epilys er, then grill for 10 minutes and add grated cheese?
@fastfinge @epilys And you have about 5 seconds to solve it before it signs you out of all your devices at once and requires you to wait 168 hours before you can attempt to sign in again, at which point you will be given another captcha that you will then have to solve in 2 seconds.
@dangero @epilys No no. It ships you a ten thousand peace jigsaw puzzle. In order to unlock your account, you must upload a photograph of yourself standing next to the fully assembled jigsaw puzzle while holding your passport.
@fastfinge @epilys How long do you have to complete this very reasonable challenge, and what happens if you fail, which of course will never happen?
@dangero @epilys Oh, don't worry. You get two business days! Starting from the time the puzzle was shipped, of course. Unfortunately, due to the rising cost of storage, they can't afford to keep your files forever though. If you do happen to fail, in order to save costs and protect your privacy, all of your data stored with them will be deleted. They care about your privacy and security. You will also need to return the puzzle at your own expense. There will be a $50 fine for every missing piece. Even if the piece was missing when you got it.
@fastfinge @epilys Awesome! Any other company would only give me 2 business hours to complete the puzzle and charge me $200 for each missing puzzle peace! Google, you're the best! Thank you for giving me such an amazing offer that I obviously can't refuse!
@epilys even seasoned musicians would fail this test!
@epilys 1, 5 & 6.
They look like the need way more umph added.
Drop the Bass!
@epilys Oh~~~~ Is it so difficult to prove myself to be a real flesh person now?
