A true master class, bravo, sir! Watch here: https://www.comicsands.com/trudeau-response-abortion-pro-lifer-2659875003.html?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=toot&utm_campaign=SAND
"I've been on this planet 16 years, and I think all women are sluts and shouldn't have any say in what happens if they get preggers."
Christianity and the undeveloped frontal lobe of a teenage dude.
A bad combo.

Looks like that self-proclaimed Bible expert has never read Numbers 5:11-31, in which the instructions for creating and administering an abortifacient are clearly laid out.
The only time abortion is mentioned in the Bible, it's basically a how-to (Numbers 5:11-31).
@Geoffberner @georgetakei
That's not what a Nirvana fallacy is, Geoff.
I just read your feed. You're smarter than this.
Geoff: I mean this with compassion and in good faith -- pick your moments.
Venting about Trudeau being a corporate water carrier has its place. That place probably isn't when he completely pwns some kid on women's rights.
That's just advice. Take it or leave it. It's your absolute right to be thoroughly repulsive and for your message to fail.
"Good point about women but OMG do you know this thing about Trudeau?!" doesn't work, really anywhere, for any audience.
You're a smart person. I'm on your side. You can't make someone look bad with a non sequitur.
@georgetakei I love it when the ever-"persecuted" Christians voice their morally bankrupt thoughts in service of persecuting others!
@georgetakei
Obviously, that ignoramus was raised in an equally ignorant family with ignorant parents.
You can’t fix stupid.
@nutriamix @georgetakei
I resist the stupid.
My school had people read a column by Nebraska corn farmer Ben Sasse, R-F.L.
He is fucking benighted, saying "kids aren't working hard" when they're obviously working their asses off in education and work.
He also said middle class parents are "in a bubble" and that "childhood is too long."
I respect a work ethic. But if you try to push that we're all a bunch of do-littles and that we should be thrown to the curb, get the fuck out of my face.
@jedbrown @ostrich @georgetakei
Oh, you sweet, summer child.
Numbers 5:11-31.
Go look it up on your own time. If you need an adult to explain it to you, I'm available.
@jedbrown @georgetakei
Average Christo-Fascist.
You think that a vital, lifesaving medical procedure is "murder", but when we have secularism in schools and not expose our kids to stupid Republican opinions, you want to exercise your second amendment on us.
Get a motherfucking life.
Hey, Jed? Can you tell me why you're qualified to decide how much risk a given person other than yourself should be forced to assume? Because every pregnancy, wanted or not, carries the risk of complications up to and including death that cannot be predicted until they occur. And yet you handwave this away, knowing full well that YOU will never have to risk life and limb to gestate.
As for your assertion that abortion is murder, well ... murder is the unlawful/illegal taking of a person's life with malice aforethought. Abortion fails the definition on at least three counts that I can see.
As for the "baby in the womb," I just have to ask: when does the woman whose uterus we're talking about get to be a person?
Justin Trudeau ... arguing?
That's incredible. That parrot usually just spews non-sequitur canned answers to all questions.
It must be because in this area of debate, it's so easy to be right and look good. There is a higher ground you can walk, and it has fences so you can safely stroll off script.
Why do the #Phone menu systems of #Government #Service institutions, #Banks and other entities always waste your time with talk about, oh, how you can more easily use their website???
The main reason anyone calls the phone number is because they have some problem accessing the website.
You're not gonna convince some 92-year-old great-grandma to use the website, so stop wasting her time (and mine) trying!
I also do not need to know about your hours or location.
Oh, listen carefully because your menu has recently changed? Relative to what base of reference? When: this morning, or seven years ago?
Why not just say "Menu from July 13, 2021".
@Kazinator
They'll probably whine about "big government" while using these websites to access welfare and other hardship-helpers.
Or they'll go off the grid and abandon the thing that serves them most.
Look, if you need help, the government should be your first helper. It is the duty for it to serve its people.
@georgetakei Abortion isn't against Christianity at all. Abortion is never mentioned once in Scripture. Violently induced miscarriage is mentioned in Mosaic law, and specifically set apart from murder unless the mother dies as well.
The "Abortion" myth is constantly and tenaciously perseverated upon by the Catholic and Evangelical clerical establishment who rely on patriarchy for power.
@georgetakei
Could we really consider these bigot Nazis activists?
They're more like counter-activists.
@georgetakei so i'm not religious, but wonder how is abortion against Christianity as he suggested?
Exodus 21 specifically says a woman's life is far more valuable than that of a fetus. In fact her even being injured physically is more important than the life of a fetus.
Numbers 5:11-31 actually endorses an abortion attempt as an adultery test, which is kinda gross like much of the bible, but in affect endorses abortion.
Far bigger stretches are required to find condemnation of the practice.
Apparently we have to use rape and incest to make a point with these anti-choice activists.
But let’s not make Trudeau into some kind of rhetorical genius. How about making the case for women “who sleep around” to have access to abortion - even in a world without rape.
Does a woman need to be raped before she earns bodily autonomy?
The man gets slammed as a handsome lightweight not so bright teacher son of his famous, brilliant father in my country. His dad was a star, no doubt. Our JFK, or even better.
But the treatment of JT is Typical corporate control of the media narrative.
He continues to impress me.
He actually meets his opponents, a thing conservatives are afraid to do.
You can tell from this he used to be a teacher.
