- Gaming (Holy cow, ernsthaft? Der Text war literally "Sonntag! Erstmal zocken! 🎮"

Because it's an important topic here the same post in English:

The Content Warning feature is just so useless when it is constantly overused. Not even three minutes into the app today and I was already required to click extra on the following topics.

- Bee on flower (yes, seriously)
- Salad (There are so many reasons not to put food behind a Content Warning...).
- Gaming (Holy cow, seriously? The text was literally "Sunday! Let's play something! 🎮"
- Cat (It's getting ridiculous - Yeah ok, it was the last three too).

Seriously. Please do NOT abuse the content warning feature for something like this. That's reserved for sensitive content. If every little bit is hidden behind it, you have no choice but to disable it and then this wonderful feature is useless for those who need it for topics that are really triggering or hard to digest.

There are hashtags for the aforementioned topics. And each person here can easily filter them if they are not interested. Content Warning is NOT for "maybe not interesting to everyone". Pretty much nothing is interesting for everyone. So please use the appropriate tools Mastdon gives us.

@kaiserkiwi It depends on which instance you're on, and depends on who your follows are and if you want to keep them. Some people don't want to see triggering material and if they are the people you want following you, then you should use them.

I hardly ever use CWs and no one's complained to me about it once. I also have CWs automatically opened so I don't have to open first.

So it's no problem really.

@lydiaconwell You are naming one problem already. You have it automatically opened. I can't do that. Many people can't do that. This is the whole point of my post. It forces people to disable this feature and this is potentially harmful for many people.

The feature is often misused. That is the whole point.
