Happy 50th anniversary to Stevie Wonder’s appearance on Sesame Street on April 12, 1973. So much to love: the band is on fire, and there’s a kid on the top of the stairs who loses it for the entire 7 minutes. Pure gold. https://youtu.be/WvTP7e92JrE

@Legopolis oh wow what a dense funky tune! The whole thing is on fire
@Legopolis wow, this sparks SO much joy 💖✨

@Legopolis

Wow a young Stevie Wonder is a little before my time. That was awesome to see and hear. Thanks for sharing!

@Legopolis I love this clip SO MUCH. Absolute lightning in a bottle: probably the best live version of that song ever captured.

(And I believe that's an absurdly young Ray Parker, Jr on guitar!)

@memory @Legopolis yeah it's definitely him - he played all over sessions for Herbie Hancock and others before he was commissioned to do that great Huey Lewis knock off
@Legopolis here's the actual Grover section of short and long and high and low notes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8lUnI35Sd8

@Legopolis That is the greatest kid in the world. Now I want to see how they’d react to “Sir Duke.”
@Legopolis That's 18 year old Ray E Parker, aka Ray Parker Jr, on guitar (left). :)

Thank you for posting this!
@Legopolis Was never much of a fan until I recently saw this. They really are on fire. It's amazing.
@Legopolis @DHSDarcy I just find it interesting that the BPM slowly speeds up. Not unexpected, though, they probably weren’t playing to a click track like is common place now.
