@MrRooni Genuine question: is there a #blessed way to go from 1P8 → 1P7? I'm now seeing ⌘+\ failing to work. And the extension remains continually busted.

I'm at my wits end. 😭

@caseyliss @MrRooni I'm sure there are some customer benefits to 1P8, but honestly, I have yet to see any improvements for my usage — only regressions.
@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni I made the switch to Apple Passwords last week. It has its issues too, but reliability and integration is worlds apart. Will keep 1P around as a backup and for items Apple doesn’t handle.

@stuart @marcoarment @caseyliss I, too, have started migrating back to Keychain.

I might have to use 1P for work, though. Keychain doesn’t have a good solution for teams.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni Biggest improvement I’ve seen — assuming it is actually a 1P8 change — is its offer to update an entry with an additional URL when I select that entry for auto fill. And I’ve also not the problems described here, so I guess I’m lucky.
@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni The instant icloud keychain has family sharing I'm gone.
@xarph @marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni I’d love an extra layer of security over the device passcode too. Like Apple ID password or even a separate password just for keychain access.

Quick access and the ssh stuff is great! Haven’t seen any of the safari extension issues personally

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni I must be the odd one, but I like it. I like the new design and I can do more of the permission management on the phone now (for my team).

We use it for all credentials management at my company and it has really simplified service account, api keys, certificates, etc. The CLI is nice as well for injecting secrets into env variables when executing commands. Oh and the ssh agent is really convenient.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni But all of those are business or team developer features. If you use 1Password for private use only, it seems that you are pretty low on the priorities list. Which might be fair, that’s a business decision for 1Password, but I would look into using the Apple solution if you’re all iOS/macOS.
@marcoarment Some times I. Wish that the 10 recent episodes button in Overcast could be adjusted higher, some times I want to find a podcast that came out say yesterday but more than ten have come out since then. Just a thought. :)

I still need something that will sync with Windows for my work computer, sadly.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni
There is some improvement in functionality although I am not a fan of the new UI in terms of usability. The performance regression on x86 is shocking. Basically unusable. Arm macs are fine.
@marcoarment Agree. I still run 1P7 because it’s so much easier to find what I need quickly, especially for items where I have multiple credentials for the same site or service.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni I switched to Strongbox https://strongboxsafe.com

- Fully native macOS app
- Open Source and KeePass compatible
- Lifetime purchase option
- Integrates with macOS keychain auto fill
- Browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox
- Compatible with any sync service (iCloud, Dropbox, Syncthing, etc)

IP7 has better sharing features and polish. However, Strongbox is actually improving as a product and the gap is closing.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @MrRooni I really really like the ssh key management stuff. That’s very handy.
@marcoarment @caseyliss If Apple turned Passwords into an app, with all these 1Password 8 regressions, what would make you consider moving to that solution?
@lukep @marcoarment @caseyliss The problem for me is that I am ready to move to Keychain for passwords - but I keep a whole lot more information in 1PW as well - but I am actively exploring ways out. 1PW v8 is not the happy, friction-free experience it used to be.
