I already looked at /e/, a degoogled Android ROM a while back, but now, it's time to try something closer to stock Android, with added privacy: @iode.

Not only does it give you a fully open source experience in terms of apps, but it also blocks all trackers and ads by default, in all apps, with a stock Android experience.

Let's take a look at how it compares!

Degoogled, Private Custom Android ROM: how does IODÉ OS compare?

YouTube
@thelinuxEXP @iode Already seen a couple comments asking for GrapheneOS but I feel like itd be a boring video because Graphene is more about design philosophy and low level improvements like hardened_malloc and the improved sandbox, storage scopes, etc
@calciume @iode Plus, I’m not buying a Pixel for a ROM review, it wouldn’t make financial sense!
@thelinuxEXP @iode Yeah, maybe someday though? I love it for its minimalist design philosophy and that theres zero compromises to using it, all banking apps and stuff like that work too
@calciume @thelinuxEXP we're glad you're into that. You can download it for free, if you want to give it a try someday📱 🙂
@iode @thelinuxEXP Give em a GrapheneOS review unit ;) For the fans!
