@mmasnick I just saw that change and was sure it was a hack. And then realized Elon's being so nutty that users have no canaries in any coal mines as it relates to their user experience today to help them realize anything is actually "wrong" on that platform now.

On the other hand, apparently, removing Blue Checkmarks is (in the words of a source to The Washington Post) a "one-by-one" process that was "all held together with duct tape".

(And I am thinking that Twitter *appears* that way internally today because Musk fired so many, so quickly.)

@mmasnick There's a psychological disconnect (imo) when a product's iconic logo is changed. A sense of "it's not the same, it's not what I know anymore." At least I feel that way with unneeded change.

@mmasnick this makes me wonder if Musk’s plan is to go LinkedIn on Twitter and charge people to get any analytics - including who RT’d your tweets or visitors your profile.

It would be right up his alley with fundamentally not understanding Twitter and the people who use it.
