Interesting timing of Twitter changing its logo to the Doge dog... just as Elon is trying to get out of a (stupid, likely to fail) lawsuit arguing that he pumped & dumped dogecoin.

Twitter is having a normal one: the bird logo has been replaced by a Doge icon, and retweets are showing up on people’s following timelines without any labels marking them as such.

You know… the guy that keeps complaining about Twitter’s inefficiencies under old management?

Undoubtedly, this is a Pump and Dump scheme that Musk desperately needs for some emergency reason.

On the other hand, apparently, removing Blue Checkmarks is (in the words of a source to The Washington Post) a "one-by-one" process that was "all held together with duct tape".

(And I am thinking that Twitter *appears* that way internally today because Musk fired so many, so quickly.)

So who really knows?

@adamjcook @chancerydaily @mmasnick The difference is that the icon isn't going to be a per user setting. You'd have to work a making changing it a hard thing to do.

But there are likely caches and whatnot across services that no one left over there understands anymore.

Let us see if any reporting emerges on this - there might be some scoops very soon if the past is any indication.
