Part of this article covers how Twitter is essentially deboosting tweets and hiding DMs when someone uses the word trans, transgender, queer, gay, lesbian, and bisexual. Again, this is eliminationist. By making even the most basic words to describe who we are into some kind of taboo naughty word bullshit, they seek to make even an acknowledgement of our existence controversial.

@graygoogirl "I'm not going to CW this" is pretty awful imo. Especially since a lot of trans people (myself included) get very stressed by the constant barrage of transphobia in the news. There's already enough of that stuff in-person to deal with. All I'm asking is that in the future, you be more considerate about this.

@ch0ccyra1n I made an intentional choice because supposed allies ignore us when we CW things. They see that it's trans related and think "well that's not my problem" and move on. In this instance, I was angry and wanted to make sure they couldn't plausibly ignore it. I'm still angry. I haven't stopped being angry at both the people who'd do us harm, and the people who claim to have our back but only when it's convenient. You're also chastising me for something I don't routinely do.

@ch0ccyra1n The simpler solution is to mute or block me. I can't guarantee I won't post something without a CW and I don't think it's reasonable to expect that of anyone. I will always view that as a form of self-censorship, one with a legitimate purpose that I routinely abide. So in summation, I genuinely feel for other trans folks who see this and feel more stressed, but that's not who this message was for and I can't rightly promise it won't happen again.
