If you drill down beyond the average numbers (and don't give credence to the un-developed tech like carbon capture and storage), the urgency becomes very clear:
To stay below 1.5°C warming requires zero #emissions by 2040. But:
"Include equity and most “developed” nations need to reach zero CO₂ emissions between 2030 and 2035, with developing nations following suit up to a decade later. Any delay will shrink these timelines still further."
