Okay, so, I just found out that I'm being laid off. My department is being completely dissolved.

I'm really sad, because I was doing full remote data entry, and I've never been happier with a job in my life. My mental health has never been better, either.

So, can anyone point me towards a fully-remote position that involves working with data, not phones? I swear, I'm super qualified and really good at this. I work hard, and I'm dependable. In the USA.

Please boost

@thekimmy she's an awesome worker and any company would be lucky to have her
@thekimmy This happened to me, too.
I had a job I wanted to stay at forever because of how happy I was. Good luck on your search!
@thekimmy flexjobs is a good place to start the hunt!

@thekimmy Do you know about Out in Tech?

They have a very lively slack channel and a good job board.

Best of luck with your search.

@thekimmy open an account on Fiverr.com. Work for lots of companies. I’ve been on there for years.
@thekimmy Are you in the US / are you a US citizen? If so, check with Aquent (aquent.com). They have roles marked as remote, including data entry or copywriting.
@thekimmy You might give a bit more details - e.g. in what country you are. Even if it's a remote job, you still need to have permission to work in different jurisdictions.
@thekimmy Looks like someone already mentioned the hashtag I would've suggested, glad for that! There is also a group that combs through various tags here on Masto to find people who are hiring, with a focus on remote jobs. If I come across them again I'll try and tag you!
@thekimmy ok I work fully remote and it is all phones but its INCOMING only absolutely NO sales at all. I take donation calls for PBS which is super seasonal with 4 main drives per year but they have tons of other non profit clients, lots of bogus religious ones I cannot stomach, but aspca st jude operation smile mercy ships wwf some really worthy causes. You can pick and choose your hours and clients. Pay is absolute crap except at pledge drives then its nuts and you can work every hour you can stay alert. ACD Direct is the company if you are still reading this : ) #remotework #nonprofit work
@thekimmy that is so sad. I know cos something similar happened to me long ago. I hope you find something good soon, maybe something even better.

Give a shout to CoTech:

https://www.coops.tech/

While they are UK-based, they have members from different parts of the EU, as well as being in contact with a lot of worker's coop's in the USA & Central America. :D

They may be able to point you at somewhere local to you. :D

@thekimmy Check out Upwork; you might find some suitable opportunities there.
@thekimmy I have found indeed remote jobs but also State and Federal jobs have remote scheme too
(Your state).gov
USAJobs.gov
@thekimmy There is much request for data entry positions and many of them can be done in remote. Good luck!

@thekimmy

Do health systems still need data entry? Used to be very common.

@thekimmy If you can, I’d strongly suggest looking into technical writing roles as well. I did it before I got hit with health stuff and it was very relaxed.

I’d also definitely check with contracting agencies like Experis and Robert Half!

@thekimmy I just saw a job posting for remote work at a company called Ergeon.
@thekimmy https://www.mutualofomaha.com/careers/careers-at-mutual/all-career-areas no idea if we have what you are looking for but we are remote and I have been pretty happy for 15 years with the company, even before we went remote.

@thekimmy remote work is so great. I did it for 18 months and despite the pay and job being kinda bad i would go back in a heartbeat.
@thekimmy
Can check epiqglobal.com. they have fully remote positions and I think there's data entry stuff.
@thekimmy heres a quick and easy job with no qualifications https://www.remotasks.com/r/2KN7LI4Q

@thekimmy Inbound only phones acceptable? If so, I’ve got a lead on a niche role supporting software used by professionals.

Lead time is probs 30 to 90 days, day one bennies including PPO insurance I’m thrilled with, and a strong corp culture of respect etc. The pay is more than reasonable for the role, raises and bonuses handled fairly, etc.

@thekimmy Also worth a mention that they handle disabilities well and with defined procedures in place, and the health insurance is pretty damn decent and affordable even with spouse coverage. First is anecdotal mostly, though my direct boss has handled my allusions to fish for clarity quite well.

Second is personal experience. One negative exp w Caremark but they DID provide an objectively equivalent treatment. My preference, even experience based, is not really relevant unless alt hard fails

@wurzbacher

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have issues with phones and I prefer to limit usage as much as possible. 'Preciate it.

@thekimmy Hope things turn out great for you ✨

@thekimmy

So sorry to hear you're out of a job, even if there are others suffering the same fate.

I too am out of work, and as an #ActuallyAutistic person like you that struggles with certain things, it make it all the harder to find a job.

I have found that my #MentalHealth has takern a real hit, to the point where I feel I can't even go out. It's awful.

@thekimmy You should add a link to your resume
@thekimmy That's rough.. and I'm in a similar situation. I wish you the best of luck.
@thekimmy The IRS may be hiring..good bennies.
@thekimmy I used to do medical transcription from home & enjoyed it (at least before doctors bought the transcription companies and cut everyone’s wages). Coding pays better.
@thekimmy oh jeez, that really sucks. I hope you find the perfect job for you soon.
Best wishes Kimmy.
@thekimmy could try clinical trials - can usually get some remote data/data management work? (Though usually not data *analysis*, unless you want to go into biostatistics)
@thekimmy check into test-scoring positions. There are many, typically remote, no phones (besides meetings with coworkers)
