@RamenCatholic if there’s another book table, would you include women authors…? a variety of intersections…?
@lizopp oh yeah, we got lots of books. If this is popular, I might do more themes :)
@RamenCatholic Thanks for considering it!
@lizopp I'm keeping an eye out for used copies of #MargaretAtwood for the banned books section - any authors or specific books you'd recommend?

@RamenCatholic I found this list right away— Black women authors whose work has been banned; was surprised to see the 1619 Project so soon but I shouldn’t be

10 Banned Books by Black Women

From "The 1619 Project" to “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings," banning books by Black women from schools and libraries is all too common.

@lizopp appreciate it, but is there anything *you* specifically recommend? I can't afford #AllTheBooks ... yet.

@RamenCatholic I’m not a big reader but am getting better at paying attention to gender and race in certain issues.

I would suggest Maya Angelou’s I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, since it’s an older book; and Nikole Hannah-Jones’ 1619 Project, which is so new and maybe was a catalyst for the current push in book banning for subjects like structural racism and the *true* foundations of this country.

@lizopp rock on! I will put both of these books on my list of books to look for at used book stores!
