A formula used by out-of-power parties to regain power:

Seek control of the 3 "c's."

Classrooms
Courtrooms
Culture

The Federalists tried this in the early 19th c.-- and failed to regain power.

It's what we're watching now.

Of course, that doesn't guarantee an outcome now. There's a reason why that approach is both logical & powerful.

@jbf1755 the modern addition to the 3 c’s would be communications/media. Fox “News” has been the semi-official propagandist of the Republican Party in this long con.

@jbf1755
It’s why Obama’s Garland nomination being stalled stings so much and the loss by Hillary so devastating.

Trump’s win allowed him to pack courts w/ conservative judges from the lowest of federal courts to the highest in the land.

Of course his win emboldened Christian Nationalists, neo Nazis and the far right as well.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you all this but it’s been a series of dominoes falling even from before those events that brings us where we are today.

And it sucks.

@aBirdieOnaWire @jbf1755 it does suck. And that has been a great motivation to thousands of new activists. I'm in a local group called EQDG Equality Downers Grove. I've never been so politically active. We're gonna kick these Republican's assess.
@jbf1755 It also tends to yield to the law of unintended consequences - like a GOP hearing into Twitter bias against Republicans that ends up confirming Twitter was biased in favor of Republicans...
@jbf1755 its scary watching this happen in real time... I feel like even though its 2023, its only 1960...
@jbf1755 I heard alcoholic drinks were once illegal, probably it's on their list
