We have actual REAL threats to our country and its citizens like, the cost of housing, the widening wealth gap, the rise of theocratic fascism, the systematic dismantling of the education system, the rise of domestic terrorism, our continued crumbling infrastructure and SO much more. But they INSIST on manufacturing a culture war on the most vulnerable and smallest group of people in the country.

The recent resolution filed by self-proclaimed TERF, Rep. #NancyMace (R- S.Car.) is the PERFECT metaphor of the republican attacks on the trans citizens. There are 535 total members of Congress and she admitted her resolution is in direct response to ONE transgender woman being elected to the House.

Rep elect #SarahMcBride (D - Del) makes up 1.86% of the entire Congress, which is very close to the percentage of the estimated 1.14% of the U.S. population that is trans.

More than a 1,000 bills were filed by legislators on the unofficial start of the #TxLege which ironically was the day before #TransVisibilityWeek. Ironically because #GOP politicians are trying to make good on their promise to eradicate trans folks. They have filed bills to:

Today is the unofficial start of the 89th #TxLege as lawmakers begin filing bills.

One of the big ones to follow is Abbot's desire to distribute wealth to the wealthy in the way of school vouchers and use public tax dollars to indoctrinate children and sanction an official religion by the state.

Kinda curious how many anti-trans bills will get filed this go around. Last year we had 76. Wonder if they'll try to break that record.

I'm sure there will bills of interest for me to follow.
