I thought i was crazy. My phone went quiet (streaming Hulu), and I heard a phone ringing. Like the one u hear when ur calling someone... Turns out a car nearby had their Bluetooth on and I could hear them trying... I wonder if people realize that thats extremely easy to hear through their car... And whatever the person says when they answer and start talking.
... Its so loud... Even if u don't have it turned up too much. But most people do. So they can hear it.
The New York Times is in a newsroom panic over the Trump charges -- "Democracy is Tested" !!! and other such bullshit.
There's a test happening at the Times and the rest of Big Journalism, all right: whether "news" organizations can bring themselves to do their jobs properly, which includes taking a stand to help save democracy.
The Times' panic is reflection of its ongoing failure -- going back decades in the case of Trump, long an obvious crook -- to meet that test.
I have three words to say to the White House and all the journalists who’ve said they won’t pay for blue checkmarks.

Religion isn't designed to encourage good behavior, it exists to justify bad behavior.
Dark sky.
These birds are anhingas. I was sitting outside late yesterday afternoon watching clouds pass when a flock of about a dozen of these appeared off to the northeast. They circled around long enough for me to get some pictures. Then flew out of sight again. I wonder where they're headed. Unfortunately, the weather being what it was and the anhinga being almost all black, their pictures are just silhouettes.
"A dark body stealthily swims through a lake with only a snakelike head poking above the surface. What may sound like the Loch Ness monster is actually an Anhinga, swimming underwater and stabbing fish with its daggerlike bill. After every dip, it strikes a regal pose on the edges of shallow lakes and ponds, with its silvery wings outstretched and head held high to dry its waterlogged feathers. Once dry, it takes to the sky, soaring high on thermals stretched out like a cross." - allaboutbirds.org
