It means you're normal. The mind is constantly interpreting what we're experiencing so we can know things like where we are and what's going on.

When we meditate, we focus on something else other than our internal dialog. This has a natural calming effect.

Through repetition we can achieve a quieter mind, meaning we create a new mental habit of focusing less on our internal dialog.
