Cyclist rant:
Dear drivers, if a cyclist is not in a 'cycle lane' (behind a painted line in the gutter) its because the 'cycle lane' is unsafe.
If the cyclist is in 'your lane' (the road) next to a traffic island, (now here's the important bit), DONT FUCKING TRY AND PASS THEM.
a human life is worth more than 5 seconds of 'inconvenience'.

@Corsair_of_time I will use the shoulder/cycle lane if (and ONLY if) I am able to consistently maintain four feet from the nearest car travel lane, without having to worry about debris/parked cars/washouts/trash bins.
Needless to say, I'm taking the full lane most of the time.
People driving motor vehicles can slow down, wait until it's safe, and then go around. Just like they would if I were taking up the room of a car.
