Oh the timing,
Road Safety Commission Western Australia this morning:
Drivers must follow these rules to keep all road users safe:
• 𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 pass cyclists or eRiders before turning left – wait for them to pass before making a turn.
• 𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 turn left from the right lane except where permitted.
• If you need to cross a bike lane to turn left, you must give way to riders using the lane.
• Always check your blind spots for riders and indicate your intentions before turning or overtaking.
This mornings #BikeCommute I get the exact example they described.
Perth drivers really struggle with roundabouts.
#BikeCommute home today was spiced up with a driver racing to beat me to a roundabout only to then drive in front of a turning SUV and get T boned.
Had they waited the handful of seconds for me to clear the roundabout they would've avoided crashing, but its always a race to be in front of a cyclist.
Driver in 4x4 pulling out of driveway nearly hits me as I’m signaling to turn: Oh sorry I didn’t see you.
Me: I’m in high viz how can you not see me!?
Driver: hey I just apologized what more do you want?!
Me: mate you could’ve killed me.
All this just after bike camera battery dies.

Driver of 4x4 kills 90 yr old trying to cross road on mobility scooter.
Stop removing the driver from the incident reporting, its not an autonomous vehicle.

My deepest sympathies to the #cyclists family and friends.
Man charged with murder over death of cyclist in Perth suburb of Carlisle

Witnessed a teen on an escooter riding on the wrong side of the road this afternoon, as they were on their way to their after school job.
Its hard enough to educate/expect driverists to follow the road rules or MSM to report drivers running over cyclist as anything other than a collision, but choosing to ride on the wrong side of a road, even a quiet one, doesnt help anyone.
Bad infrastructure creates bad driving.
Sussex St and Mooregate St East Victoria Park
Driver of small hatchback failed to stop at a stop sign while Im turning. The intersection itself doesnt enforce correct driving as stop sign is a full car length behind curb.
A square cut speed hump at the stop line 'might' encourage drivers to stop.
