My youngest and I were in southern Wisconsin this afternoon. As we were not too far from Williams Bay we decided to stop and see the Yerkes Observatory. Built in 1895, it's an amazing structure and, cast in the warm winter light, it was wonderful to see.

@andymarfia oh it has an amazing history. It had the world's largest telescope for many years. The university sold it a few years ago but it was saved and you can still book tours inside. The grounds are free to visit though which worked out well for us today.
