ONGOING: #Indigenous #Sámi youth and environmentalists are occupying Norway's Ministry for Oil and Energy, protesting the government of #Norway's inaction after Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Sámi agains the #Fosen #windturbine plant.
DAY TWO: #Indigenous #sami 
activists, and #environmentalist allies, are still occupying the Oil and Energy Ministry (OED) of #Norway. There are also many activists outside the building.
OED security has attempted to isolate them and drive them out. The media and all visitors were denied access, isolating them from media attention. People bringing them food and water were refused, apparently an attempt to starve out the activists.

DAY THREE: The #Indigenous #Sámi occupation of the Oil and Energy Ministry of #Norway is still ongoing. Norwegian media is writing next to nothing about it.

Greta Thunberg har bekreftet at hun slutter seg til aksjonene utenfor Olje- og energidepartementet, ifølge Natur og Ungdom og NSR-N. Aksjonistene krever at det pågående menneskerettighetsbruddet mot Fosensamene opphører. Siden torsdag morgen har unge samiske aktivister okkupert lobbyen til departementet. Thunberg har engasjert seg i urfolkskampen tidligere også. – I morgen blir selveste Greta Thunberg med i protestene. Greta Thunberg skulle etter planen møte Fosen-aksjonistene i Olje- og energidepartementet søndag kveld, men fikk ikke tillatelse til å komme innenfor dørene. Det opplyser Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen, en av aksjonistene, til NTB. It's been four decades since the Alta Affair got #Norway international negative attention. The Norwegian state was destroying #Indigenous #Sámi land by damming the Alta River, and cracked down on Sámi and #environmentalist protest
Not that much has changed. The #Fosen Affair is arguably even worse: this time the Norwegian government is suppressing the Sámi in spite of its own Supreme Court's decision. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the #Fosen Sámi over 500 days ago. The government ignores it

President of the #Sámi Parliament of #Norway, Silje Karine Muotka states that the actions of the Norwegian government has created a "deep crisis of trust" between the #Indigenous Sámi and the Norwegian state.
Before true dialogue can begin, she says that
- PM Jonas Gahr Støre must give an unconditional apology to the #Fosen #reindeerherding Sámi
- The Government must recognize that Fosen is now the site of an ongoing human rights' violation.

DAY EIGHT: The Minister of Oil and Energy of #Norway finally admits that there is an ongoing #humanrights violation and apologizes to the #Indigenous Sámi.

No concrete measures to end the HR violations suggested yet, though.

Reactions to the press statement from #Norway head of Oil and Energy. It is considered by many to be very weakly worded and devoid of concrete solutions. Not even the bare minimum of what is needed. And of course absurdly late, and after first trying to crack down on #Indigenous #environmentalist #humanrights demonstrators with the police force.
DAY NINE: Now the prime minister has also admitted that #Fosen is an ongoing #humanrights violation and apologized to the #Indigenous Sámi. The conditions of the Sámi to enter into dialogue with the Government have therefore been met. Dialogue has began re: how to end the violation.
The activists have announced that last day of demonstrations - for this time.

The future probably holds more demonstrations, unfortunately. Since the #Indigenous Sámi of #Norway live in a state where it takes over a week of massive demonstrations in the face of police counteractions to get the Government to do something as small as following up a Supreme Court decision - if it favors the Sámi.
If we didn't know where we live before, we know now.
