Thou shalt not use your religion to take away other people’s rights.
@godpod
"NEW COMMANDMENT:
Thou shalt not use your religion to take away other people’s rights."
Hallelujah!!!
[This is retroactive, right?]

I reminded my congregations that Billy Graham discovered on his trip to Soviet Union in 1982 that the US and USSR had the same % of population in church on an average Sunday. It worked out to be 10%. No matter that in surveys 80% would say they were believers in God, they didn't vote with their membership, with their feet, or their wallets. I doubt that the current attendance % is that high.
"Christian US Nationalism" is higher, however, but without the call to love and/or service.
@godpod
Amen!
Can we also have: "Thou shalt not pigeonhole people based on accidents of birth, including (but not limited to) gender, race, locality, or parentage."?
@godpod hi god.. given it's Sunday & stuff could you maybe share this ?

Using scary deities is the modern era's way of strong-arming the people into being a compliant religious member and/or forcing non-believers to accept their religious misconceptions and lies.
Well, you'd know more about this than me, but I've always thought that taking away other people's rights was the point of religion.
Within a hundred years of Christianity inheriting the power of the Roman state, worship of the classical gods was banned. The Puritans had religious freedom in Holland, but couldn't stand the idea of others having it too, so they went to America to found a theocracy.
It rarely ends well when your opinions have the backing of a supernatural authority.
AKA "The First Amendment"
@godpod
That's covered in the #1stAmendment
No establishment of religion.
It's a good idea.
Someone should tell the House majority, and Pence.
Wonderful, thanks. Article V. Good to know.
Oh did you think of that just now?
