For climate-science-savvy folks: How do you balance knowing these unnaturally warm, warm temperatures (I'm in the US South) in February feel so good to body and spirit, with also knowing they are NOT okay for our planet? I was just reading outside, with the birds and insects....ahhhhh..... but the experience has so many levels of awareness! #climate #climatecrisis #weather #insects #animals

@bjkingape I was a citizen-activist for ~15 yrs, but have now given up in disgust at my fellow citizens' apathy, selfishness, greed & mendacious myopia. They keep voting in govts who are hellbent on NOT fighting the climate emergency, but worse, actively accelerate the problem by ongoing approvals for dozens & dozens of new fossil-fool projects. The only party, #TheGreens, who steadfastly promulgate policies in line with the science, are routinely mocked & pilloried.

@dropbear42 It's worse than frustrating, isn't it? Even my progressive friends mostly won't give up or drastically reduce meat and dairy (as one example). And governments, corporations? Just lots of greed and fudging the numbers. A while ago I posted here my review of The Climate Book edited by Greta Thunberg which opened my eyes to all the deception. I'm not totally without hope, but it's dwindling.

Ah, yes, this. Fwiw, i went vegetarian 11.x yrs ago, primarily for principles of #ethics, #environment & #health, but also tbh partly #budget. My ongoing failing though is #dairy, coz i love #cheese & #yoghurt, & drink lotsa #milk. Re latter, coupla yrs back i changed to #SoyMilk, but lately for availability & budget, might have to revert to #SkimMilkPowder ... which is killing my conscience!

@dropbear42 Well I am also not where ideally I'd like to be either. Multiple factors impinge.. not re love of dairy but in my case past chemo and radiation really still affect what I can tolerate to eat. So I hear you on this.
