Velocirooster adminensis @princesaballena I have some Jewish ancestry. My great grandfather and his mother were murdered by Hitler. Growing up, I didn't have much connection to Judaism religiously or culturally but the one thing that I have always felt in my bones is the generational trauma of the Holocaust. The knowledge that it absolutely can happen here, and to expect the fascists when they come. I pray that it doesn't happen but I am not encouraged by the number of people in this country who seem so willing to give up every ideal they pay lip service to in their faux-patriotic nationalistic ferver just to prostrate themselves before an authoritarian fascist leader who spews an ideology of hate. Take care and stay safe. I really hope everything turns out ok.

As a Jewish person, as much as I appreciate the sentiment of checking in on my well-being in the face of antisemitism, it would be more congruent with my cultural heritage to express care and concern by bringing me a sack of fresh severed Nazi testicles.

Kim Possible@princesaballena We should probably have a network of protection in place for synagogues, and Jewish neighborhoods and businesses. I would like to see community pushback, and for the the progressive churches to get involved in standing up to this with vocal and concrete measures.
