Cyclist rant:
Dear drivers, if a cyclist is not in a 'cycle lane' (behind a painted line in the gutter) its because the 'cycle lane' is unsafe.

If the cyclist is in 'your lane' (the road) next to a traffic island, (now here's the important bit), DONT FUCKING TRY AND PASS THEM.

a human life is worth more than 5 seconds of 'inconvenience'.

@Corsair_of_time if the cycling lane is unsafe how about rather than moving into the traffic, especially near a traffic island (also unsafe).
How about you get off your bike and walk?
A few extra seconds is worth more than placing yourself at risk.👍🤷‍♂️

Not sure if you're taking the piss or not...

Driver could do the same? If their actions are going to risk the lives of others maybe they should stop, get out and walk?

Cyclists are legally allowed to use the road.

The real solution here is not cyclist walking or driver killing person but better infrastructure. If the road is unsafe for people it needs to be changed.

That's the scenario. Wait 5 seconds and pass safely, or risk killing someone. Defensive driving
