I’m on the hunt for more feel-good tv and movies. Starting to run out of steam on the heavy, dark, gritty stuff.

I’ve recently been enjoying Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Acapulco.

Anyone have some good recommendations for me? Doesn’t matter what streaming service it’s on.

@danbetcher Gary and His Demons (darker, animated, silly, funny) and Extraordinary (great premise, very funny).
@KingShawn thanks! I’ll check these out! 🙏
@danbetcher Let me know what you think. If I see any others that fit your description, I’ll pass them on.
@KingShawn watched the first couple episodes of Extraordinary- quirky and strange, and pretty funny stuff! The mom’s super power is probably my most favourite thing 🤣 excellent recommendation!
10 Reasons You Should Be Watching Apple TV+'s Hello Tomorrow!

The first three episodes of the retro-futuristic series starring Billy Crudup are now streaming.

@danbetcher And while I’m not a fan of either, the new “Night Court” and “Will Trent” might fit your criteria as well.
@danbetcher Smoke Signals isn’t new but it’s one of my all time fav movies.
@danbetcher Also Shittz Creek takes a few eps to find it’s footing but is kind and funny and less mannered almost immediately .
@danbetcher Trying, Muster Dogs, The Repair Shop, We Are the Champions, Great British Baking Show
@danbetcher Reservation Dogs, Virgin River, and I second Schitt’s Creek. You might hate the characters at first but stick with it.

@danbetcher I just watched the movie "yesterday" from 2022 or 2023, and thats about as feel good as I get.

Enjoyable as fuck!

@frigginglorious oh yeah - I have seen this one and would agree, it’s fantastic!
@danbetcher Animal Control is a blast
@jonathantrott never even heard of this one! Going to check it out for sure - thanks!
@danbetcher I can recommend Hilda, an animated series on Netflix about a girl living with her single mom in a sort of alternate British Columbia, with trolls and elves and magic. It’s one of those shows aimed at kids but enjoyable by adults, with a great, wry sense of humor, and it’s super warm, #cozy, and cheerful.
@MythingPerson interesting - I normally can’t get my head around animated shows for some reason, but you’ve piqued my curiosity with this one, so I might give it a shot - thanks!
@danbetcher if you're looking for stuff still on the air, Unstable, with Rob Lowe. If you like stuff that's ended and bingeable, Modern Family is a classic.

@danbetcher

Loudermilk now on Netflix curmudgeonie comedy that’s very good.

@roo_44 just watched a trailer for this one - and it looks right up my alley. It’s on my list for sure! Thanks!
