Reading The Inn Side Shop, a #cozy novel about a teen who takes over a magical shop at a crossroads. He begins to learn alchemy, sells potions to adventurers, then learns a potion of his saved one of them & is moved by it:

“Someone was alive because of me, and with my face still in my hands, I began to weep.”

I’d never think to use the word “weep”. Cry, sob, tear up, bawl, maybe even wail, but not weep. Perfectly good word, just… too soft? Not my style? Curious. 🤔

IMHO, the most compelling argument for atheism is how gods damned stupid the human body is. “Intelligent Design” my ass. And everything about reproduction sits at the very pinnacle of the what-the-fuckery that is mortal biology.

You can certainly say that an immortal, omniscient, reincarnating being capable of creating universes with its peers wouldn’t mind a bit of nonsense — and to be clear, I do say that. But that it’s nonsense is inarguable. 🙄

Practice makes perfect :3

My wife has been binge watching Babylon 5 over the last few days, 3 episodes each evening. It's a great show but I feel constantly hungry. I've eaten 4 packets of Garibaldi biscuits this week.

If your old kindle has been killed by Amazon and you can't be arsed to jailbreak it, I'm hoping to adopt a small number of these to learn how to do the jaikbreaking process.

Assuming the process works, your kindle can be returned to you afterwards if you wish.

DM me if you'd like to post me a kindle or would like me to collect it from you in London

Our rain water tank has a bird's bath underneath the tap because it leaks. This issue has become an important feature. The constant slow dripping of the tap supplies the bird's bath with fresh water. As a result birds, mostly house sparrows, use it as their drinking spot. It is quite literally their water cooler / coffee corner & you can see them chatting, eating & gossiping around it. It's a lovely thing to observe & great to start the morning with.

This is *great*. The main thing I count on Wikipedia for is having enough eyes on the content that enthusiasts will fix factual errors. Having a notoriously unreliable “contributor” is the one thing I *don’t* need.
