Tom Chantrell posters #2. Early in his career he worked on posters for Brighton Rock and East of Eden. In the 60s he illustrated several Carry On and Hammer Film posters. (He also did many fabulous B-movie horror and sexploitation posters).
He also illustrated book covers: Denis Gifford's legendary Pictorial History of Horror Movies, as well as annuals for programmes such as Crackerjack, The Avengers and Mission: Impossible.

Finally, here's Tom Chantrell himself holding up his incomplete illustration for the original Star Wars poster in 1977. Last week, one of these posters sold at Sotheby's for £11,430.
